Living in South Africa inspired me to use traditional Zulu patterns for my ceramics project this year. I carved these specific triangles and lines to honor the heritage and craft traditions of the culture I see every day. Using the Sgraffito method on earthenware clay allowed me to bring these geometric designs to life in a way that feels authentic. I want whoever buys this mug to feel a deep pride and connection to our local South African roots. This piece represents the beautiful art that makes our country's history so special.
