My mug features a design inspired by traditional Zulu patterns from South Africa. I carved concentric circles into black underglaze to reveal the white earthenware clay underneath. Even though I started with a different idea, I am proud that it turned into this beautiful cultural tribute. This sgraffito technique takes a lot of patience and precision to get the lines just right. It is a great way to celebrate African craft while you enjoy your favorite drink.
