Zara's Mug

I am a South African student, and I wanted to bring my heritage to life through this earthenware mug. The white and turquoise glaze patterns are traditional Zulu designs that Ive always admired on my grandmother's handmade baskets. Each triangle and stripe has symbolic meaning, representing a craft tradition that is very important to my home. Even though I am Falset Zulu, I feel a deep connection to these patterns and wanted to share that African culture with you. By purchasing this piece, you are celebrating our history while supporting the Ikemeleng Foundation. It is a beautiful way to own a piece of tradition and help our local community.
