My mug uses soft colors like petal pink and white to create a calm feeling. I used circular shapes and some squiggly lines to give the design a smooth feel. I was inspired by Zulu patterns because they use shapes rather than colors to express creativity in a calm, meaningful way. The mug is made from earthenware clay, and I created the pattern by scratching into the glaze with a noodle tool. Through this design, I want people to feel empathy when holding my mug because it shows that we can help others in many different ways and support the Ikemelang Foundation.
